Jimmy George, a native Ohio Valley resident quickly proved he’s an adventure seeker.

“I have the inspiration to learn to surf before I’m 50,” said Jimmy, “And I’m running out of time. I love the beach. I love the water. I’ve collected sand from beaches all over the world.”

Jimmy started travelling the world when he joined the Navy in his early twenties. He spent seven years as a support equipment technician. That time included tours at sea with three Mediterranean cruises.

“In 1997, I got out of the military,” said Jimmy. “Then, I worked quality maintenance jobs and even tended bar. One job was at a casino as a technician on the machines. They still follow the preventative maintenance plan that I put in place.”

Most recently, Jimmy worked for Mancan. He held various seasonal jobs before starting at The Ziegenfelder Company as a temporary employee.

“One of the owners of a bakery that I worked for knew Lisa (Allen) and encouraged me to come to The Ziegenfelder Company,” said Jimmy. “I was looking for a job and I found a career here.”

Jimmy has been with The Ziegenfelder Company for a little over a year. He moved up to line worker once he was hired full time and then relief worker on the overnight shift.

“My biggest challenge here has been staying healthy,” said Jimmy.  “I’ve been doing beginners yoga. Staying limber is a huge part of this job. Hopefully, I can start a trend.”

Jimmy attributed much of his success to his fellow Zieggy Tribe members who continue to help him reach his goals.

“People feed on good qualities. It’s contagious!” said Jimmy. “We’re a very tight group. My team is awesome. There’s a lot of great guys on my team. There’s always someone there to have your back.”
